Messing around with sound. Be thankful I don't do a whole EP of this kind of stuff.
Actually, now I think about it ... maybe I should ...
Both Music For Film and Pulse proceed apace. Still don't know which one will reach completion first.
And so it goes.
Available right now on the Amazon Kindle Store!
At $2.99, you should impulse buy a copy!
Other platforms such as Nook and Sony will follow soon.
This is my first ebook and frankly there was a learning curve with regards to correct formatting for Kindle, etc, but I'm fairly happy with how it turned out.
Next up is finishing Music For Film and then I'll probably do another ebook. I'm thinking a collection of my humour pieces...
Off to work I go.
(Cover by Erika Pearson.)
Some more film/trailer music outtakes. I'm trying to finish Music For Film and there's a lot of stuff not making the cut. Not in its current form anyway.
I've always wanted to do something like this ever since I heard Steve Reich's Drumming and again when I heard some of Brian Eno's bell stuff. I like this enough that I'm going to play with it some more, I think.
'Tis the season, so here's some Xmas music for y'all.
Don't know if I'll post again before Xmas*, so I hope you all take it easy, have a great holiday and I'll see you all back here in a couple weeks.
*I have something here I've been meaning to post, so we'll see if I can manage it in the next few weeks. I'm on holiday, don't you know ...
I wish I had something enlightening to say about this one, but I got nothin' really.
This is one of my favourite tracks off of Planet Drum. It was also one of the hardest to finish.
Listening to it now and looking at the Ableton Live session, I can't quite figure out why I had so much trouble with it. It may have been that I had planned it to be about twice this length and it just wouldn't go there. It wanted to be shorter.
Pro Tip: Let the music go where it needs to.
Words to live by.
An early draft. Just throwing ideas at the wall and seeing what sticks.
